Schuylkill Valley Emergency Medical Services Yearly Fund Drive

Frequently Asked Questions

1.   I just moved into the SVEMS Primary Coverage Area and it is in the middle of your fund drive period.  Must I pay the entire amount or can you pro-rate our membership ?

Due to Insurance Regulations and policies regarding our membership program payment in full must be received in order to benefit from our membership program.

2.  What do I do if I received multiple mailings at my residence or if the name is wrong on the membership card.

When you return your membership with payment please make the appropriate changes to the card you are sending back.  If you received duplicate mailings please send the duplicate form in to our office and Mark duplicate mailing on the form.  We will make the changes to our records so next year you only receive one mailing.

3.  Will I receive a Bill for Services if I utilize your service ?

You may receive a statement from our billing department asking for your Insurance Information so we can process your claim with the Insurance carrier.  After payment is received from our Insurance carrier your statement should read no balance due.  If this is in error please contact our billing department at (610) 286-5076.

4. Will other services accept my membership in the event Schuylkill Valley EMS is on another call and unavailable at the time of my emergency.

Schuylkill Valley EMS does have reciprocating agreements with many of our back-up services.  These services will accept your membership.  In the event you receive a Service that does not honor our subscription program you may receive a bill for services.

5.  How does the Schuylkill Valley Emergency Medical Services Membership Program work ?

Each Year Schuylkill Valley EMS sends out a mailing to all residents and business in our primary coverage area.  The costs of this program is $45.00.  Because the membership program is NOT an Insurance policy, you may still receive an invoice from our billing department.  If we were able to obtain your insurance information at the time of your transport the invoice will be directly sent to your Insurance carrier.

Typically, an insurance company will only pay a pre-determined amount of the invoice and require the patient to pay the remainder.  If you decide to enroll in the SVEMS membership program, you will not be responsible for the portion of the bill that your Insurance Carrier does not pay.

SVEMS has reciprocating agreements with other Ambulance companies in our area.  If SVEMS is busy on another call and one of these participating organizations responds to your incident,  Your SVEMS membership program will protect you from any additional expense.  Remember the responding ambulance must have a reciprocating agreement in order for your membership to cover this expense.

The SVEMS membership will cover two adults within the household and any dependants under the age of 18.  Special needs dependants are covered at any age, and full time students are covered until 21 years of age.

Due to Insurance Regulations You will not be considered a member unless the requested amount is paid.   As always any donations in addition to your membership is greatly appreciated.
